Here's what some of our members say..

"I really didn't know what to expect when a friend first recommended a few Road Runners sessions to help get me round the Great West Run. Twenty years later and I still get a buzz from the weekly physical challenge, the discovery of interesting new routes for club runs, and seeing the development of new members from running newbies to seasoned racers. Along the way I've also made some great friends and met Sarah, the love of my life (and fellow Road Runner) at one of our regular post club pub sessions"

"SWRR is a club for runners of all abilities. It is filled with members who share a common love of running, be it trail, road or track and it has brought together true friendships. There is something special about putting on a club vest and racing to representing a club who really values its members!"

“I joined the club 4 years ago. There is great variety in the running opportunities from track sessions, road runs at different paces, social events, running events and informal groups working towards shared goals together. It’s a really positive club, with plenty of encouragement whatever your running ability or goal.

My motivation with SWRR is about running with others as well as doing some focused training on the track some weeks.  As a run leader (club funded LIRF training) I’m happy leading a Wednesday night road run, feeling a part of what’s needed to keep the club ticking along. “

“‘A brilliantly organised running club that is great for a new runner wanting to get involved in local races and to meet some new running friends, regardless if you and are just after some company on a run or looking to improve your competitive running SWRR will be there to help’ Cheers”

“I first joined SWRR a few years ago when wanting to extend my running ability from 5k to 10k. The transition group was very friendly, led by a trained running leader, and since then I’ve enjoyed regular group road runs or using the fantastic running track at the club. It’s a really well run and welcoming club and welcomes all abilities’”

“A friendly club which has welcomed me with open arms.  Encouraged me to improve my running and is good for a bit of banter and friendly competition.

Unforgettable weekend bombing through Wales in minibuses for the Welsh Castle Relays.

Friendly and welcoming to all.

We have got through the tough times together.

Many thanks for all the fun times and support through the tough times.

Best wishes”
